Xenobotany / Xenoflora Guide

Xenobotany (xenoflora) is the study and cultivation of exotic, mutated, and alien plants. The xenobotany SeedMaster holds all garden seeds plus exclusive exotic and mutation-focused varieties. The xenobotany SeedMaster scanner shows: stats, produce, soil (nutrient/water), temperature, and light — use it to plan mutations and evolutions.

Xenobotany-Exclusive Seeds

These are in the xenobotany SeedMaster only (or cargo Exotic Seeds Crate where noted). Reagents are base values; potency and traits scale effects.

Name Product / Reagents Notes
Ambrosia vulgaris Nutriment, Space drugs, Monocaridine, Toxin Mutate → Ambrosia Deus, Ambrosia Robusto
Amanita (fly amanita) Nutriment, Amatoxin, Psilocybin Weed invasion; mutate → Destroying angel, Plastellium
Glowshroom Radium Mutate from Reishi; spread, wall-hugger; plant on floors
Harebell Nutriment Weed invasion
Liberty cap Nutriment, Stoxin, Space drugs Mutate from Reishi
Mercy's hand (shand) Bicaridine, Anti-toxin Mutate from Space alocasia
Moon tear Sugar, Moon water Mutate from Sun tear
Nettle Nutriment, Sulphuric acid (sacid); weapon, poison Weed invasion; stings without gloves; mutate → Death nettle
Plastellium Plasticide Mutate from Fly amanita
Reishi Nutriment, Psilocybin Weed invasion; mutate → Liberty cap, Glowshroom

Amauri Zombie powder, Condensed capsaicin, Nutriment Alien
Gelthi Coffee, Nicotine, Nutriment Alien
Vale bush Paracetamol, Dexalin, Nutriment Alien
Surik vine Mindbreaker, Turbo, Nutriment; stings Alien; spreading
Telriis grass Pwine, Nutriment Alien
Thaa'dra lichen Frost oil, Nutriment; alters temp Alien
Kudzu Nutriment, lg_anti_toxin (Dylovene); invasive vines, plant anywhere Exotic Seeds Crate / cargo; spreading
Random seeds (varies) 6 in xenobotany; random mutant each packet

Mutation Mechanics

  • Mutation level: Built by mutagen (Unstable Mutagen ≥15 units, Radium ≥8 units) and mutation_mod from reagents (e.g. Left4Zed, Plant-B-Gone). Each process tick reduces mutation_level by 2–4. When it triggers, the plant mutates and level resets.
  • Severity 1: Random trait mutation (same species, different stats).
  • Severity 2: Species mutation — pick from seed.mutants (e.g. tomato → bluetomato).
  • Severity 3: "Great" mutation — pick from seed.greatMutants (e.g. ambrosia → ambrosia infernum or ambrosia omni). Requires somatoray/flora gun "evolve" shot or equivalent.
  • Severity 4: Evolution — only if seed has evolutions and the plant's chems contain all reagents listed for that evolution. Then species changes to the evolution target (e.g. ambrosia omni + cronexidone → ambrosia panacea).

Somatoray / Flora gun (if available)

  • Floramut shot: 20% chance to mutate (severity 2 or 3 by probability).
  • Florayield shot: 20% chance to add +1 or +2 yield_mod.
  • Floraevolve shot: 20% chance to trigger severity 4 (evolution).

Mutation Trees

Ambrosia vulgaris

  • Mutants: Ambrosia Deus, Ambrosia Robusto
  • Great mutants: Ambrosia Infernum, Ambrosia Omni
  • Ambrosia Omni evolution: add Cronexidone → Ambrosia Panacea
  • Ambrosia Infernum evolution: add Aluminum → Ambrosia Diablos

Destroying angel

  • Great mutants: Grave Filler

Metal cap (mutate from Tower cap)

  • Evolution: add Plasma → Plasma cap

Grass line (Maiden / Mother / Crone grass)

  • Evolution: plant must have Paracetamol, Tramadol, Oxycodone (all three) → Trinity grass

Banana

  • Evolution: add Lube and Blood → Clownana (hostile mob product)

Weed Invasion

When weed level hits 10 and wins the check, the tray is overwritten by one of: reishi, nettles, amanita, chanterelle, plumphelmet, towercap, harebells, weeds, grass, wheat. In xenoflora, some of these are useful (nettles for acid/weapons, reishi/liberty cap for drugs, tower cap for wood). Keep trays weeded with mini-hoe or weed killer to avoid losing crops, or let invasion happen on purpose to get exotic weeds for seed extraction.

Tray Care

Same as main Hydroponics guide: Mushrooms — nutrients only. Weeds (e.g. nettles) — water only. Other plants — water + nutrients. Use Plant Analyzer for full stats (Endurance, Yield, Maturation, Production, Potency, harvest type). Companion planting: adjacent trays with the same species or a listed companion boost health and can reduce pests; monocrop stacking also gives a small bonus.

Cargo

Exotic Seeds Crate: Liberty cap, Reishi mycelium, multiple Random seeds, Kudzu. Use these to bootstrap xenobotany and kudzu without waiting for weed invasion.
